Memorial Service

Memorial services are sad occasions, but I actually get a lot of request to videotape them. People like to have a last remembrance of a departed loved one, and often they get a chance to talk to people they haven't seen for a long time. Here are some pictures from the day of a recent memorial service. Some are from video of the service itself, and some other, happier ones are still photos from when relatives and friends got together after the service.

Indian Wedding with Captain Howie

I've put up many posts about Captain Howie of Waimanalo, because I am one of his two principal videographers. His ceremonies are definitely always at least somewhat non-traditional, but this one was more so because he is a Hindu and the couple was Indian. So it was a full-on Hindu ceremony, complete with a fire.

It's easy to get good photos with a Captain Howie wedding, because in addition to his home being across the street from beautiful Waimanalo beach, it has beautiful outdoor features such as fishponds, fountains, and an artificial waterfall. Here are some photos taken from video.

A Wedding at Loulu Palms

This private home on the North Shore is located at one of the very few places on Oahu where you have the beach all to yourself. Absolutely gorgeous. These are stills taken from the 4k video I shot.

Vlog #3. Should You Use a Drone at Your Event?

After a considerable delay, I finally have the third episode of the vlog up! From now on they should be appearing a lot more frequently. In this one I discuss the new Mavic Pro drone I have, show some footage from it, and talk about some things you should consider when deciding whether to use a drone for an event. As I say in the vlog it takes a lot of practice to fly these things well, so I'm not ready to offer a drone service yet, but stay tuned.

Photographs from my Exhibit in Spain

As mentioned in an earlier blog post, the trip I made to Spain this year was not just for a vacation. I was also there to be present at the opening of an exhibit of my photographs of a small town in Spain called Calahonda, dating all the way back to 1972. The earlier post showed a video of people enjoying the exhibit and the speech I made. Here is a sampling of the photographs displayed in the exhibit.
