Two Day Memorial Service Oct. 15-16, 2014.

A family contacted me at the last minute to do video and photography coverage of the memorial service for a family member who had passed away. I do my utmost at these events to be respectful and stay in the background so the family can grieve in peace. These are stills taken from the video.

What the Latest Technology Means for You. Part Two: Examples of 4K Advantages

Here is an example of what I was talking about in my previous post about the advantages for you if your videographer shoots in 4K, even if you see the edited video on 1080P Blu-Ray or even just a regular standard definition DVD. Notice how when the video is shot in 4K and then downscaled to 1080P, your videographer can better smooth out jerky footage and zoom in without losing detail.

Next, look at these examples of an enlargement made from 4K video compared to an enlargement made from 1080P video. If you look at the detail from the 1080P enlargement (click on photos to enlarge), you can see it is very soft, but the detail from the 4K video is still sharp. This means you can have your videographer extract photos from your video without worrying about low quality if you want enlargements of your favorite images. I will be offering 4K video very soon!
